This week we are pleased to introduce to you our special trainee Nyangoma Oliva 37 and a single mother of 3 and the very first flood victim enrolled into RuFI Uganda weaving class.

Nyangoma one of the many flood victims who lost all her property became a mother at 15 after she had dropped out of school. This was also after the death of her biological father who was responsible of her fees.  Nyangoma says her husband passed away 10years back and she has been taking care of her three children since then. Out of the three children two are in school, the elder in secondary three and the younger one is due to complete her primary level this year if all goes well depending of government decision on the lock-down.

As a single mother, She has been selling charcoal as her business as a main source of income to cater for cater for her children but this was lost during the recent May 2020 floods that hit almost every part of Kasese District.

With courage and hope to bounce back, she is currently training in weaving at Rural Focus Initiative Uganda as she forward to start earning some income for family needs and able to revive her business.  She is soft spoken mother who likes to associate with new people and always open to give out her mind.
