Staff and volunteers in this organization accept and recognize our responsibilities to develop awareness of issues that cause children and young people harm. We will endeavor to safeguard children and young people by:
• Adopting child protection guidelines through a code of behavior for staff and volunteers.
• Sharing information with agencies who need to know, and involving parents and children, staff and volunteers
• Providing effective management for staff and volunteers through supervision, support and training.
• Committing to reviewing our policy and good practice on an annual basis.

It is the policy of RUFI-U to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people by protecting them from all forms of abuse including physical, emotional and sexual harm.

RUFI-U is committed to creating a safe environment in which children and young people can feel comfortable and secure while engaged in any of our programmes/activities. Staff should conduct themselves in a way that reflects the good morals and practices that protect children from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation in any form. Our decisions and actions are informed and guided by the principle of ‘the best interests of the child’.

Currently we are working with community health teams who help to identify children whose rights have been abused and make referrals to the relevant offices of help. or directly contact the Rural Focus Initiative-Uganda office.

Overall goal:
Increase knowledge and understanding of child rights abuse-related risk factors through provision of accurate, updated and appropriate information among the entire communities of Kasese district.
