Our History

Rural Focus Initiative – Uganda (RUFI – Uganda) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) with the Uganda NGO Board under registration number INDR151794101NB operating in the rwenzori Region, western Uganda and working towards empowering women and young mothers to be self-reliant through vocational skills training. We are located 100metres off Kasese Mbarara High Way, Kirembe Cell, Central Division Kasese Municipality -Uganda, Kasese District, western Uganda and we are a non-profit, non-denominational, political and non-sectarian organization founded by welfare-minded young women and men in 2016.

RuFI Uganda was founded by community welfare-minded young women and men with an aim to empower the community in the fight against poverty, address human rights abuses and revive positive cultural/traditional norms and values in society. RuFI seeks to reduce unemployment, teenage marriages and pregnancies, and the spread of diseases by providing information and training. The Organization is run by competent staff members under the stewardship of a board of trustees.
